The "I Have a Dream" Committee honors the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr across the country.  The City of Leesburg has joined up with the committeeto create a permanent memorial throughout the city.  The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial dedication ceremony in Leesburg, VA, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 9am at the Loudon County Courthouse (1 Harrison St SE).  If the weather is bad, the dedication ceremony will take place inside the courthouse.

The City of Leesburg wants to honor the Martin Luther King Day March that takes place every year through the city by placing engraved plaques all along the march's route.  The courthouse is the site of the first stone on the march.  The annual MLK March route begins in downtown Leesburg at the Loudon County Courthouse, continues on along East Market Street and ends up at the Douglass Community Center.

The annual MLK March takes place every year on Martin Luther King Jr Day, the third Monday of January.  This is part of the official Loudon MLK Celebration that takes place in Loudon County annually.  If you're interested in participating in the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial dedication ceremony in Leesburg, VA, be at the Loudon County Courthouse this Saturday (February 12, 2011) at 9am.  Let's show up to honor the life of this amazing, peaceful man.
